This week we’d like to welcome a very special guest as our Weekly Warm-Up tag-team partner—we’re joined by Scott Fuller of The Studio Temporary. If you haven't met Scott yet, he’s responsible for incredible branding work for clients like the Atlanta Hawks, AIGA, Johnny Cupcakes, Phish, Bankhead Seafood, Killer Mike and more.
Now, Scott’s known for his distinctive icon design and his dedication to getting the job done, and that’s why he’s challenging you to design an icon representing work ethic for this week’s #dribbbleweeklywarmup.
What are some immediate tips Scott recommends for designing icons? First, he urges you to start small—whether you’re quickly sketching in your notebook, or laying down shapes on-screen—you need to know if your forms are quickly identifiable.
Also, if you find yourself searching for visual inspiration to kickstart your ideas, another of Scott’s go-to tips is to get out of your chair and into your environment. So if you’re finding yourself in a creative rut, it’s time to get out from behind the screen and take stock of the inspiring forms within the world around you.
So let’s see what you’ve got, Dribbblers—be sure to Rebound your work ethic-inspired Shots here by February 8. And, hey—Scott’s going to be picking some of his favorite submissions, and we’ll be showcasing those across our social channels to share with the world.
Lastly, don’t forget—Scott’s joining us for an exclusive Dribbble Workshop in just a few weeks—be sure to check out all the details, and grab your tickets now. Happy designing, Dribbblers! ■
Use this week’s warm up prompt to flex your design muscles and hone your skills. Work however you want, but keep it low-stress and fun!
Design something and hit the button above to Rebound this shot before February 8 to participate in this week’s prompt!
