---33/52--- 88.9 Radio Milwaukee

If you live in Milwaukee, you know 88.9... it’s our listener supported public radio station that plays literally everything. Everything from classic hip hop and r&b, to indie rock, classical and soul. Pre-Covid they broadcasted live local music with a studio audience, calling it 414 live. They interject community stories between songs and have great segments, like my personal favorite, urban spelunking. They even broadcast the public school board meetings from time to time (I could do without those). The point being, they don’t discriminate, and their hosts are an eclectic bunch that drop musical knowledge daily to those interested. Once this pandemic is over I can’t wait to drop by one of my favorite “remote offices” which is the Stone Creek Coffee on the corner of Pittsburg and Barclay which also houses the 88.9 studios. Scroll through the images here to see the history of this building (built in 1952 originally housing a manufacturing company)... and if you’re new to Milwaukee or just passing through... tune in to 88.9
