November 26 - Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been a tradition for New York City and millions of TV spectators for 96 years! Floats, performers and larger-than-life balloons are the perfect appetizer to your Thanksgiving day.

HOW TO CELEBRATE:

• TUNE IN - Check your local NBC listings. This year it’s a bit different as the parade will be held in a small area near the Herald Square store. But they will still be celebrating nonetheless.

• RERUNS - Decided to sleep in? You can catch the parade in any film version of Miracle on 34th Street, the Seinfeld episode: “The Mom and Pop Store,” in the first Thanksgiving-themed episode of Friends, and the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters.

• FULL OF HOT AIR - If you are ever in NYC for the parade, be sure to visit the grounds around the American Museum of Natural History on Thanksgiving Eve. That is where and when they inflate all of the balloons and it is truly a site to behold. Back in 2006, we went to NYC to see the parade in person, and seeing the balloons inflate was just as exciting.

Any way you decide to celebrate, make it a safe and joyous Thanksgiving!
