What do you guys think? Do colors work?

What's it for Alex?
It's an illy for a blog post (this stuff). I will get rid of the paper texture to make it a bit more consistent with an overall feel of the blog.
Right on man, looking good. But isn't it 48% faster? :)
(508 - 243) / 508 ... but it might be easier to even it out to 50% :)
508*.52 = 264 :)
Well, yeah, but isn't "xx% faster" the same as "faster by xx%"? Honest question.
Hmmm...I think we are basically on the same page because I said 508*.52 = 264 and if you multiple 508 by .48 you roughly get 243. So, 100% - 48% = 52%. We're just on a different spectrum that's all. If you would have made your "after" 254 ms instead of 243 ms we would both meet up in the middle at 50% :)
I like how the 'after' color accents the shorter bar. In the sense of information design, speed is probably easier to perceive than time taken. I'd almost thought the first bar means 'faster'.
I think changing the bars to show % faster is better than sizing them based on time. That would mean the brighter blue bar would be bigger and this seem "better" at a glance.
Similar to how Apple shows it's speed improvements.
Aesthetically it's very nice though :) Nice work
