My love for Hemingway started with one of my fondest memories of my childhood. My father and I went to the Milwaukee IMAX to see the animated short film adaptation of 'The Old Man and The Sea' by Aleksandr Petrov. (A film I recommend you see before you die as it's an absolute masterpiece which took over 29,000 hand painted frames to create.)
Beyond 'Old Man' my favorite Hemingway piece is what he considers to be some of his best work—his six word story.
"For Sale. Baby Shoes. Never Worn."
I've embraced Hemingway's six word story challenge as a creative thinking method, and have employed it several times whenever I choose to write at length.
Recently I was introduced to a fantastic website that invites designers and illustrators to write and illustrate their own six word stories, publishing one every day.
Hoping they accept my submission, and that you'll be able to see it very soon.
