Yesterday we started telling you about the website we made in partnership with IDOL for Normal Now marketing campaign.
What you see above is the final version of the website design we made here at Zajno and handled our partners for development. It differs a bit from the live website so we thought you might be interested to see it too.
The website is now nominated on Awwwards and CSS Design Awards! Check it out and vote!
Normal Now marketing campaign aims to popularize electric cars. Its core idea lies in drawing comparisons between “new technology” of the past - like computers and cell phones - and electric cars. The goal is to show that they too seemed weird at first, but they are normal now, just like electric vehicles.
Our task was to design a modern informational & educational website in a snazzy 90s wrapper. Why the 90s? Because it's the period when first websites started to emerge. We decided to combine retro elements with modern interface. To do that, we researched what first websites looked like using Internet Archive and tried to recreate the same mood and character. Besides drawing inspiration from those websites and blogs, we also borrowed some distinctive elements such as gifs, banners, fonts and font effects.
