Noah's dove was chosen as a symbol of the company, as it was released by Noah after the flood in order to find land; it came back carrying an olive leaf in its beak, telling Noah that, somewhere, there was land. The Bible says that Noah's ark landed on the mountains of Ararat (the terretory of historical Armenia).
