I have always been drawn to the rooster as a design element or form. There is something elegant, powerful, and just down right scary about a rooster. What's fun is they come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes so I think this lends well to art and all the different ways you can emulate the subject.

I have used the rooster before on school projects, but have never had a chance to apply it to a real life scenario (no farm logos). I finally saw a chance here. I started thinking about how the a rooster tail looks like fire and how that could represent natural gas and then I thought of a way to tie in electricity. The rooster is also very symbolic in allot of cultures and considered a solar symbol, symbol of honesty, symbol of physical and moral fortitude, fortune, luck, fidelity, and protection. Roosters are considered sacred symbols in Japan.

Unfortunately the client went with another logo not seen here.
