Penelope Playing Cards

The design is named Penelope after Odysseus' 10-year journey from the battle of Troy home to his waiting queen Penelope. Along the way he encountered all manner of characters, and experienced every emotion known to man. These emotions are what inspired each of the suits. Ambiguous and complicated. The cards themselves are printed in the Essex on high quality 320gsm linen with a smooth coating to make them familiar for playing.

This box was hand crafted in the Hampshire from the rescued mahogany bannister post of a manor house in the Royal County of Berkshire. The box is minimalistic but incorporates practical features such as the front window and a finger hole underneath to easily eject the cards.
