    Another take... "Le pied de mammoth" means mammoth foot.
    Trying to make a mark to look more like a mammoth foot.

    I don't know if it's historicaly/scientificaly accurate, but I guess you could make do with a more round shape, quasi like the one of an elephant.

    Nearly nobody has a real knowledge about the actual shape of a mammoth's foot, so you could go with what remains the most of a mammoth in the collective unconscious, which is probably an elephant.
