My CW Brand

'I am a Graphic and Motion Designer with strong technical and commercial expertise. The development of my skills in old school print to modern digital platforms and the ability to bring a concept to life are the themes of my brand and this formed the basis of the concepts and ideas.'

Once I had the initial idea of using print elements, the video elements were going the be the main area to look to for my new logo/brand. I focussed my ideas on the digital modern aspect of the design and used the video controller icon as the basis for the initial concepts. The “play” and “fast forward” buttons seemed to work well with my initials ‘CW’, so I came up with several concepts with those elements in mind. After playing, spinning and moving the button in various ways it became very apparent that one logo stood out from the rest and matched the brand theme of ‘old school print to modern digital platforms which will help bring a concept to life’.

After the fast forward button had been decided, I made some small adjustments on the aesthetics of the feel and style by adding bold and thicker lines. The clean lines are mirrored in the dynamic shapes which represent forward thinking. I considered adding effects, including drop shadows or outer glow to make the logo “pop”, but after taking some advice from other designers, I stayed with the flat version for compatibility with all digital platforms. I feel the brand is strong and represents all the elements of the design skills I possess, and hope to promote for future work.
