Like many others, I’ve been a fan of Matt Smith’s concept for interactive placeholder text since the first time I saw it. A great concept and a great animation to illustrate. Matt mentions that he built the animation in Flash. Following on from my previous shot where I used Keynote for animating basic app interactions, I wanted to reproduce this in Keynote also.
This shot is made from one Keynote slide with approx. 60 actions to give the various transitions. I probably took the long way around in some parts, so, it’s probable that it could be done with less.
The animation is exported from Keynote as a .mov and then converted to a GIF in Photoshop.
