I'm nearly done creating a full functioning web template for the job that is meant to accommodate 4-5 internal web apps.

This is a GREAT exercise for thinking ahead when designing and coding. Knowing that this needs to be flexible and ready to plug into many scenarios really helps you plan ahead and focus on clean re-usable code.
