Shodhan Villa (Back)

I have been always inspired by Le Corbusier's work ever since I saw the Mill Owner's Association building designed by him in my city, Ahmedabad.

So whenever, I got time I kept digging for more of his work and have come to realise that much of India's modern Architecture is influenced by him. It is hard to ignore it now whenever I see a building from a contemporary admired architecture.

Shodhan Villa is by far the best house designed by him that I have fallen in love with. What it distinctly like about it is, how subtle it is from the front side and at the back is where magic happens. Although, built by a very wealthy family the building it self does not say anything on the lines of "I was expensive to build". Shodhan villa has come to represent for me a perfect marriage between "Form & Function" in the harsh Indian climate
