It's got such a great dynamic yet flat feel to it. Something, IMO, that's very hard to pull off. Well done.

great work. I think the shapes can be tweaked a bit to look more like a fox and less like a squirrel (bigger ears, longer mouth/nose area, rear legs knee "bump" etc.)

It's a solid mark, but it is indeed a bit ambiguous. I definitely didn't think 'squirrel', but, had I not heard been told what it was before I viewed it, I do think I'd have deliberated before coming to the conclusion of 'fox.' The long tail with the white tip is definitely the giveaway here, but the shape of the head does leave something to be desired.

Also, I think the white tip in the tail is just not working as it should. I completely understand why you chose to do so, but I think the white being completely enclosed by red is taking away from the recognition of it as a fox's tail.

I did kind of think 'red panda' when I first saw it :P

I like the intention, but I think that the reliance on the standard circle BG interaction is overplayed. Additionally, if you use the guides as a BG, make sure the shape fill actually lines up. Right now there are some disparities between the red fill layer and the BG dotted "guide lines" that make me think the "guide lines" were an afterthought.
