Hey, I hope your eyes are not on fire :D If not you can try to open full view in attachment.
I got inspired from new Stripe and Musixmatch websites and I'm playing around with new concept for famous Czech store with American and British goodies called "The Candy Store". They have pink/purple logo (which looks fine for me) and I want to use some gradient in main cover with these colours like the other guys used it. What do you think?
The main area could be used for any special offers or something for sure but this time I tried to make just a basic one with a short description and two buttons. Btw there is photo of owner in the background I found somewhere...
They have really horrible site design now - http://www.candy-store.cz/ and I want to do this design for fun as a side project. The plan is to contact them later with more stuff I'll made.

i like it. great redesigning!
Really nice @Ales Nesetril !
@Ales Nesetril you really hit the mark here. Nice work!
Hodně fajn :)
Yes, it looks fine, nice graphic, every detail is perfect, but It isn't tasty, it doesn't look like candy store, it looks cold. Just my opinion :)
Totally agree with @Tomáš Černý , all pixels are great, but the overall feeling is too much modern for me :)
@Pavel Huza @Tomáš Černý and what do you guys suggest to improve? :)
@Ales Nesetril what should propably help is less grey and more colors, maybe some fancy font for some headlines and add some element which is related to candy store
do it tasty, add some emotions..
maybe try it again from zero :)
@Ales Nesetril for examle try to add some delicious photos of products instead of your image slider or incorporate some textures/vector elements to bg to make it more "playful" :)
Try to inspire at www.thinkbig.cz .. There are some elements which makes it playful, more trendy, young. I think if you just visit Candy Store you gain a lot of ideas how to improve.
@Luboš Volkov Co takhle dát to místo toho týpka do toho coveru? potkačeně mapu s body třeba
Jak bylo řečeno hravější tvary a rozhodně bych lépe využil obrovský prostor hlavního banneru. Není to špatné jako začátek, ale zkus to rozvinout dál.
Accidentally, I shopped there today for the first time: and I must say their whole brand & experience from their logo to the cashier was really good and most importantly it has personality - funny, friendly & nice.
Website should communicate this. Even though your redesign is generally good looking, it is bland & cold - lacks emotions.
Guys above have good suggestions, I'll add just one:
this is exactly the kind of website where starting with a moodboard would help - to mold emotions & visual direction before diving into details.
(btw. do NOT buy jelly belly, that stuff is addictive :D)
@Adam Amran @Vaclav Bedrich @Tomáš Černý Do you want to help me make it more "tasty" guys? I'm not sure what exactly should I try, let's cooperate!
Braindump: more (bright) colors, more varied shapes, overlapping elements (less square-ness/proper-ness), more roundness (don't go overboard), playful/fun headline font (more round/juicy/sweet), full bleed hero photo (colorful, branded, less color overlay, IMO.)
Perhaps having a prominent social media aspect would be good for a brand of this type. Drive conversation of the brand and all that jazz.
Cheers! Great work.
@Ales Nesetril let's upload or send PSD to rebound u :)
I love the colors.
