An early on concept that was discarded — I focused more on the drive-thru convenience of Krystal. More than half of their sales come from drive-thru which is outrageously high, so it makes sense to highlight that.
Here's a comparison of using National Black Italic, a friendly but industrial looking face, and modifying it for the word mark. I also wanted the K to have an arrow in it and expand the use of arrows in the branding and directional signage.
