Sonos Controller

Disclaimer: This is a fun project for personal use only. I don’t work for Sonos and these are not meant to represent the real Sonos App. Though I would like it to be reality! I linked a Figma Prototype link at the end of the description if you want to check it out for yourself :)

I love Sonos, their products and their branding. The Mobile App is also state of the art. But the Desktop App bugs me! It’s just not good and doesn’t fit the theme of the brand. It probably doesn’t get much attention at all. Let’s change that!

I started working on this Sonos Controller Redesign a few days ago and I’m quite happy how it turned out. A simple idea sparked my creative drive to create some designs. So, I had the impulse to redesign it from the ground up. I just challenged myself to create a User Interface which not only best represents the Sonos brand, but takes advantage of all the cool possibilities you have with their products and ecosystem. What were those challenges?

1. Syncronizing multiple different devices
2. Multiple playlists, sound bars and actions for each individiual device
3. Keep as much of the brand identity but also redefining some aspects

Of course they allow way more options than I would be able to bring into one screen, but it was such a fun project to do and think about.
