Finishing up a branding document for a non-profit group. I'm no expert at developing these documents but I guess the best way to learn is by doing.
In many cases these non-profits have no clue how to use and apply their logo in their marketing and communications. It's cringe worthy but their goals and efforts are noble. I'm beginning to realize the importance of providing branding documents that illustrate recommended layout and applications for clients such as them. I feel empowering clients with the education of good design, it's best practices with more emphasis on why and how only brings more respect to the industry, the craft. and the difference it will make in their business.
