I've recently joined the team of Healthy Heroes and helping them out to make the transition to iOS 7.
This shot shows only a part of the profile page and if you would scroll down,'d come to the feed.
I tried to separate the status bar from the navigation bar below by using the black one, but I'm still not sure whether to go with it or not.

I think the white one is better.
Great work, dude!
I think the white status bar elements would be better white for contrast and clarity. Other than that, great work so far.
@Stan Mayorov, @Davey Heuser, @Phil Stringfellow Thanks for your comments, guys - I appreciate them a lot!
In regards to the status bar: The reason why I made it black, rather than white, was to set the focus only on the navigation bar as you don't necessarily need the status bar. Maybe I'm completely wrong with it, but I wanted at least give it a try. Think I'm going to change it back to white though.
I don't think that the user's attention will be divided, and my opinion is that the status bar must always be as visible as possible. Apple's UI guidelines merely state that a light status bar looks good on a dark background, but that's all.
Plus, maybe with having the white status bar icons, you could maybe read this article on icon practices, and maybe use solid icons rather than hollow as to catch the user's attention easier? https://medium.com/design-ux/a93647e5a44b
While some want to have the status bar always visible, some won't.
Send you an article via twitter, which kinda refers to this article on medium about icon practices.
