Favd Icon

Goals: design an app icon that emphasizes sharing and favoriting, but hints at the camera inside without giving in to yet another camera lens icon.

Details: Use the Favd star logo, rendered as a camera aperture. Off center allows us to show details otherwise lost if scaled to fit. It will have plenty of nay sayers for breaking the mold, but will stand out in a very crowded field. The profile of the star is used throughout the app, the favd.net site and in other branding.

Colors: Our branding shade of blue that is used throughout the app and high contrast yellow used carefully in the app to only with other stars.

Tools: Several Cinema 4D rendered layers blended in Photoshop. Masking and details added in Illustrator.
