Because everyone deserves to find themselves lost in a book.
@James Fletcher is the major mastermind here and we based the UI on Rdio. Project halted after Oyster Books was announced.
Let's work on your next project. I'm also looking for a Full-Time, pretty much anywhere.

Clean dawg, I like the shelves thing.
Is this a wordpress theme?
@MIKE AUSTIN Nope, a web app. Though, that's not a bad idea actually
@Patrick Rogan I would buy it to sell my vids and other media.
Man.. this is very awesome. Clean!
it's a little too similar to Rdio, don't you think? Not just in style, but in the placement of every interface element..
I like it
@lukechesser I'm pretty much saying I want Rdio for books.
Love it man! Amazing clean work!
really nice !
looks fantastic, nice work
Rdio for books? I would love that. I wonder if books could work with a similar monthly subscription model.
This is great, a little too much vertical spacing in some areas, but overall you've done really well.
@Tyler Murphy Check out Oyster https://www.oysterbooks.com/ . they're the new kids on the block for book rentals.
@lukechesser @Tyler Murphy Exactly. They're the reason we put this project on hold. I was thinking of joining their time actually.

A little while ago Patrick uploaded a section of the Library UI that he and I had collaborated on while I was on my media/technology/design hiatus. Since then I thought I'd share a section for myself. This is the Discover page, where the user would find recommended books based on their previous interests, as well as recently added books that may also pertain to their personal reading tastes.
Yes, the original idea was a sort of Rdio for books, so don't tell me it looks like Rdio's UI :P
