    I'm illustrating a number of historic maps for an ongoing BBC World Histories magazine article
    called 'In the Footsteps of...' which puts a spotlight on famous historic explorers and their expeditions.
    This map pictures Alexander Gardner's flight from Afghanistan and his crossing of the Hindu Kush in 1826–28.
