Peace, Be Still

This one seems to be the official Bible story of 2020. Jesus and his disciples were out on the lake when their boat was suddenly overtaken by a massive storm. As Jesus slept calmly, his disciples were filled with panic by the chaos surrounding them. They anxiously woke Jesus up, and with a single rebuke of "Peace, be still!" Jesus brought the storm to a complete calm. Interestingly, when the storm ceased, the disciples were still afraid-- not of the storm but of the one who held power over it.

We may not know when or how the storms will be made calm, but we can trust that God is in control and that in our fears, we can look to him.
