Black Lives Matter

I hope recent events allow those of us with privilege to do some reflecting and to figure out how make changes in our lives that help shift from passive “non-racism” to active anti-racism. Read books, listen to friends, have a talk with family members, reach out to your rep/mayor/councillor. There are all sorts of ways to get the ball rolling. A lot of people here in Canada think what’s happening in the States doesn’t apply to us and that we’re somehow exceptional. We are not. The time has come to wake up and reach out. I have a lot to learn, we all have a lot to learn. Let’s do better. Remember, it is a privilege to learn about racism rather than experience it your whole life.
