This is a logo I designed for myself whilst in my second year of college. Overall I'm happy with the cut of the logo, I think it's unique to me, easily recognizable and isn't really following any trends that I've seen.
I've been going back and forward with using it as I'm still really unsure of what font style to use alongside the logo itself. I've tried a lot of fonts and font families, settling on a serif font which my lecturer recommended for my end of year presentations, you can see this on the other shots I've put up, to be honest I don't think it looks great.
    Any recommendations / advice?

Tell me if you would like to spend money for a commercial font license or if you prefare a license free font – than maybe I can give you a few recommendations.

    The rooster logo looks great!

@Arno Kathollnig Thanks a mil, really appreciate it! Just had a look at your work, really nice, great style and attention to detail!
I probably want to go for license free for now, but not too popular/common a font, if all goes well I will be using this for my promotional work when looking for a job so would like to stand out a bit from the other job applicants.
Was there a commercial font you had in mind?

... no, not at all! It’s only helpful to know it. I’ll try to give you a few – hopefully helpful – recommendations within the next days.

@Arno Kathollnig That would be brilliant, from the shots you have displayed you seem to know what you're doing, haha, so I would very much appreciate that, thanks

@Colm O'Connor Hi Colm! Please, find here below a list of links to free »Serif« fonts with more than one weight. It was hard to find quality typefaces for free. – Most of them you may find on »Font Squirrel«. My personal favorite is the »wedge serif« typeface »Marta«. Hopefully you will find something you like!

@Arno Kathollnig Hi Arno, thanks a mil for the recommendations, just looking through them now. You really did go above and beyond and I genuinely appreciate you taking the time, I'm sure I'll find something in the list - I do like the Marta though, haha!

@Colm O'Connor ... now I’ll try to find a nice free maybe non-serif typeface – against your lecturers recommendation – to set alongside your logo!!! – Something I would put alongside!

@Arno Kathollnig Haha, can't wait to see what you find! I think a sans serif would compliment the logo well and is actually something I would prefer, my lecturer was all about the contrast though so I was caught between a rock and a hard place!

I originally did this logo as a self branding project in college but never settled on a font choice. Up until now It's been sitting in a folder, but when approached about this project I thought it would suit it perfectly. Let me know what you think!
