There is nothing more crucial to how I get through life as a grown man child than having spent my youth and adult life screwing around with a mic in my hand with fruitless local bands. Be it punk, hardcore, metal, I've always gravitated towards people who poured themselves into making music and art on their own terms and pursued a life that was centered around that DIY ideal. I don't do bands much anymore, and never gained much success beyond being "that local idiot in that band", but that's way further than I ever dreamed I'd be able to go, what with having no musical ability to speak of. These three letters will always center me and help me get through life, reminding me to always treat this world like an all ages show.
