This pattern is for an Indian tea farm based in Bihar, birthplace of Buddhism. I wanted it to be culturally significant, so I used as my inspiration Indian jali (intricate lattice work), as well as mandala and rangoli art, which are circular, meditative, and spiritual in nature. The flowering lotus, a powerful Buddhist symbol, is also represented.
