Gay Games 9: Cleveland + Akron Medal Design Proposal

Here was my take on the Gay Games 9: Cleveland + Akron Medal Design. They opened up a contest to Cleveland area artists to create a design that would be used for the Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Participant medals to be handed out at the event. My design was based around a scalable vector design that would work without color restrictions. Cost of production was a factor in my design decisions so I chose to create a 1-sided medal that can be scaled to any size and would be carved/raised instead of relying only on color. (also allows for easy double sided versions in bronze, silver, etc) The white sections of this design represent the raised while the black represents the carved (can be reversed if desired).

http://www.gg9cle.com/ will announce a medal design winner at the end of July so fingers crossed that they are interested in how I represented the event given their set branding guidelines.
