MoneyVerbs

MoneyVerbs is a financial lifestyle app that offers a space where individuals can comfortably talk about money and money habits.

In the Summer of 2019, I joined Minneapolis-based digital consultancy NCXT as the first UX/UI designer. I was faced with the daunting task of building out the product infrastructure, features, and hierarchy for MoneyVerbs. Our timeline was short, and our team was ultra-lean. Regardless of these limitations, I created a design strategy that would allow for MoneyVerbs to launch with essential features but naturally expand into a more robust experience.

Once the user journey had been thoroughly plotted through meticulous wireframes, the visual design was set to take shape. However, MoneyVerbs had only fragments of a brand. What we DID have was a wonderful brand story—inspirational, reassuring, and delightful. With this as a primary point of reference, I developed a rich color palette, letter mark, and guidelines for the creation and use of brand assets. Big thanks to Ahmed Hakmi and Michelle Dao, digital illustrators who expertly followed my direction for the creation of these illustrations and iconography.

MoneyVerbs is growing fast! I’m so happy to have been a part of its early stages!
