Talking about me in the third person makes my writing incredibly boring. It's a personal opinion of course but I don't really believe in the whole "X is an award-winning freelancer who paid (me) to make them look like they're a big fish".
So if writing an about page is proving a difficult exercise, try to think about the value you bring to the table. It's not about where you studied and who you worked with but how it makes you relevant.
I tried to write mine based on this principle, and still keeping it short enough so that users won't drop out dead bored after two paragraphs.
