My first encounter with the works of Stephen Hawking was when I was 13 or 14 yers old, as everyone the first book I read was The history of time. It was mind blowing.

Obviously some of the concepts flyed over my head, but two things were fixed in my mind, even today those are with me: First the beauty of the ideas and the equations and second the ability of Hawking of tell a story (reminded me so much of Carls Sagan in that aspect).

It is difficult to explain how important this man has been and will be in human development (now I recall the poker games between Data, Newton, Einstein anf Hawking aboard the Enterprise E).

Every woman or man that help us to think outside of the box and that remember us that the best humanity lies in our hearts and imagination is a hero for me.
