McLaren Neuromodulation project - Charger Prototype

A Demo Kit just for the implant Charger was put together using Arduino. It allowed us to demo it in internal meetings and in interviews. The buttons on the side represented features that were identified on research and mapped on our journeys - each would trigger the right LED behaviour/animation.

The success of this demo kit can not be understated as it reduced the amount of effort anyone outside the core team would have to put into imagining the behaviours. It made it feel actually real and indeed plausible.

As a Visual Designer who loves to solve interface related challenges and who still believes these must go beyond the digital side, working in this kind of project with such an amazing team was something I will treasure in my personal and professional experience for the rest of my life, specially given that we were working for Healthcare.

I was leading the visual design side (colours, animations, affordances, overall usability, etc) but both the UI Design and Industrial Design sides were a result of very close collaboration and, completely, a true team effort so kudos must go to the amazing work of:
