McLaren Neuromodulation project - Charger Prototype

Animation was crucial to sort out in a project that dealt with types of interaction to which there are still no patterns. To which consequently there are yet no "exact" mental models.

LED based animation was the most effective way we found of conveying some of the status and confirmation of user actions but paper prototyping or static images in sequence weren't conveying the intention and effect properly during interviews. So I quickly started putting together these low fidelity GIFs that definitely allowed people to not have to imagine what the interaction could look like as much as they were having to when looking at static imagery. It allowed us to quickly convey and discuss the animations as well as quickly test and iterate.
