Mobile App _ Medication Reminder

My client is a doctor who serves in several locations around the US States. He deals with the severe depression patients most of them are senior citizens. Many of his patients forgot to take prescribed medicine on time regularly that cause trouble in their daily lives. These are tech-savvy patients who are spending most of their time on phones and tablets.
Doctor reached out to me to come up with the right mobile solution by following the right UCD process of my domain. However depressed people can take their medicines on time and there should be some notifications when there is time to take the medicine and some way to record and share their recorded allergies.
