Reaction Commerce · Products Detail

Another shot of the new Operator Tools experience built for Reaction Commerce.

The customer can never really buy a Winslow Dress. They can only ever buy one of the variants of that dress, for example, a Navy Extra-Large Winslow Dress.

So the detail page goes into, well, detail about the different variants of this particular product.

One of the key features is what we call “upwards inheritance”, where a parent variant’s data is defined by its children. You can see here that the Navy XS variant’s price is defined as a range, because it has children with varying data. Again—a customer can’t actually buy a Navy XS, they must buy one of its children. So the parent variant, like the product itself, only exists as a container of its children.

Turns out enterprise eCommerce is a bit of a mind fuck.
