I struggled for too long on how to perfectionize my own logo.
I wasn't too keen on the serifs, but wasn't satisfied with my previous attempt without serifs either.
so I had to find a middle way..something between too edgy and too round, which the previous versions were.
I cutted off the serifs, and rounded up the edges, I gave the stems of the K a slight angle, and this is the result.
it's now also more eligible as a face, which was my intention in the first place.
I also want to thank magnum for inspiring me on this one http://bit.ly/Z8d1bn
do you like the new one?
if you have a tip how to improve it, let me know

Looks like a keeper to me :)
I like this logo you made for Donkey Kong,
great work Daniel!
DK is a hard monogram. I had to do one recently and it took me a while to get right. I'm indifferent on the D, but I think the angles in the K are much better! Also that might be the best inspiration ever.
Definitely better for me!
Looks great Daniel, go for it!
@Milosz Klimek @Sean Heisler @Isaac Grant™ @Chris Thomas @Jonas Söder @James Graves
thanks everyone, really apreciate it!
I definetely go for it, if so many like it!
great improvement, Go Go Go :)
@Thierry Hefti thank you! :)
@Taly Emmanuela @Claire Coullon @Melissa Brunet @Alexandra Bond @Alexander Wende
I wonder what you all think of this new update? yay or nay?
I like it! Maybe some other colors and it will pop better!
@Tobias Svenlöv yea I thought of other colors.. I just feel like I can't ditch that gold since it growed on me, I work with different colors on my new website, so I could adapt that colors onto the logo... some mint green, salmon red, light orange gold and some others, I will most likely go crazy with that.......
until now I really refused to use different colors, but now I try it with the relaunch! a new responsive website.
thanks for your comment!
@Daniel Keller The sans-serif update feels really fresh, particularly the option on the left.
There's a nice balance between soft/round and straight/hard which is super pleasing... it creates a good tension, which makes it feel active. I didn't think the original could be approved upon, but this is great!
@Alexandra Bond thanks a lot for your comment Alexandra!
its both the same logo, the left one is just 90 degrees flipped to show that its a "face" too, but not obviously.
I agree, really great that you enjoy it, it wasn't easy to do, and it took me so long to realize whats the solution...
now the hilarious and funny part about the redesign is that I thought of different mustache's that could work as a K extension.
so Magnum's mustache came to my mind, thats gotta be one of the most random & weird working processes I know.
but you'd never guess that by lookin at it. :D
The other one is in regards of the color and form a bit more memorable in my opinion. This one has a great simplicity and the DK is more obvious and represents your style much better than the other design. I like the color scheme of the other one a bit more, but maybe I'm just used to it :)
Thank you @Alexander Wende
glad that you like it.. This particular color scheme was only for this shot, I'll probably keep white on gold for my avatar. But will use different other special colors for my new website!
and I agree on sans serif type, I was never that much into serif fonts anyway! :)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it Daniel! Even though I'm on vacation right now, I thought I'd pop in just to tell you that :)
@Melissa thank thank thank you Melissa for popping in and say some nice words! hope you have a nice vacation and relax a bit! :)
ah, simplified ;)
it reminds me of a few Danish typography style that I've pinned a while ago ^_^
@Audee thanks audee, not much similar to me.. but I apreciate your comment! :)
@Daniel Keller I love the new one! I can't remember if I told you already or not.
@Lauren Ratcliff thank you, you didn't told me before, glad you did now.
@Daniel Keller I absolutely love this one! To be honest I tend to like logos that are more simple and serifs definately make the thing more complex.. and the one on the right definately looks like a japanese modern font!
@Taly Emmanuela the first time I hear that! but it sure looks a bit like it!
thank you, I also like it more simple.. that's why it fits so well to me in my opinion.
