Having trouble deciding which version to go with. Since the latest release of FB on ios has a redesigned top bar I've been thinking about implementing a similar version.
The standard button style appears to have a restriction to the clickable/pressable area whereas the full-height buttons do not.

I really hate Facebook's implementation. By just using the icon and not having a button it looks as if the clickable area is reduced.
iOS users are used to the paradigm of the back button, so I think that should at least be stuck with. Maybe take a look at Tweetbot as they use a mix on their top bar when you have lists setup.
i think the new facebook bar actually looks abit odd
@Stephen Radford The exact method FB used does, true. I have added the border lines which I think helps and is something facebook could really use.
Tweetbot is an interesting one for sure. For now, the native style is the winner but if I can improve the top version then I could be tempted.
@Luke Zammit yeah I think it's more to do with how theirs opens up the side panels to halfway instead of changes pages entirely. I'll keep trying
