My debut! Thank you Michael Chester for the draft!!
This is a poster concept done in WPA style for a museum exhibition on the history of the telephone.
I selected fonts and colors indicative of the era, and digitally rendered the telephone via Illustrator from a sketch of a 1930's telephone.
I used perspectives to create some drama and to effectively play off the term "Retrospective"
Nominated by Sessions College Faculty and chosen by curators for the February 2013 Design Collection:
"Digital Arts student Laura Obenauf answered the call with her stylized WPA poster. A wonderfully rendered retro rotary phone rings off the hook, supported by deco typography, vivid color choices, and in-perspective text announcing the event. Meticulous colors, use of perspective, and a nice contrast between highlights and shadows make it all convincing."
