Unchained

I did this editorial illustration for an article on the Simple Thread blog. Justin did a great job writing about our decision to leave the AWS partner network after their recent change to the program's terms.

This one was a bit different than the previous illustrations for the Simple Thread site. I've been working to leverage the visual aesthetic of these drawings to quickly create images that contribute to the narrative of the article. I've been happy with the results, but still working on the speed side of things. For this one, I spent a few hours trying to render a cloud in the sketchy, line work style with middling results. In the end the graphic representation of the cloud tells the story better and was much easier to produce. If I had the instinct for that in first place this would have only been a two to three hour endeavor.
