I'm trying to work out the kinks in the concrete casting process now. We're almost there.

Carving the original from clay this time, instead of wax.
This is part one of a coaster pair, and for the pessimists (AKA realists) out there, a "half empty" sibling is coming your way.
I think I'm finally finished with the wax original. The next step is to make a latex mold and cast it in concrete.

Switched from balsa wood, which was far too difficult to sculpt for me, to wax, which is working a lot better.

I fixed the 'r' problem from the previous shot, and using the power of Simple Green, I transferred the image onto my piece of balsa wood.
Next stage is the carving stage, and I'm honestly not sure how well this is going to work.
