Obviously I love the aesthetic, the relationship between the two elements is pretty flawless, I do however wonder how appropriate it really is for a clothing label.

It embraces an approach to logo generation that I frequently see on Dribbble, and one I've used as a personal challenge in the past, but very rarely see it used in commercial projects. It's what you might describe as a little on-the-nose. Did you do it for fun or is this client driven project?

@Kevin Burr I don't believe that my comment indicated that I held such a belief, merely that if that's what Jan wanted to convey then it isn't evident.

As I suggested, allowing these references to inform the aesthetic without being evident then that had more merit.

The shadow and use of the third dimension is perhaps making this appear far more compelling than it really is. The 1 isn't evident and the spotlights aren't there. However, if you are simply using these to reach an original form rather than as an obvious communicative detail then great.
