Lead Product Designer

About Elementary

Elementary Robotics automates defect detection for manufacturers using computer vision and deep learning AI. Our mission is to make manufacturing more efficient and less wasteful.

Our team of 25 and growing is headquartered in Los Angeles, with offices in Chicago and Mexico City. We have raised over $15 million dollars from great investors including Threshold Ventures, Fika Ventures, Fathom Capital, Toyota AI Ventures, and Idealab.

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer to take our design capabilities to the next level as we scale our product to thousands of manufacturing facilities. This role on our Design team will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Machine Learning.


What You'll Do

  • Translate computer vision and AI workflows into intuitive experiences for non-expert users
  • Lead the creation of our design system, establishing reusable patterns that scale across a variety of devices
  • Contribute to product strategy and roadmap definition
  • Explore complex problem spaces, rapidly iterate on solutions
  • Deliver high-fidelity designs that clearly communicate requirements to Engineering
  • Define and execute user research and usability testing plans
  • Grow and mentor designers on our team

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience leading design teams
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • 5+ years of professional hands-on design experience
  • Strong design portfolio with a focus on complex data products
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems and/or style guides
  • Eagerness to receive detailed, continuous feedback on your designs
  • Ability to strongly articulate your work and rationale
  • Proficiency in Figma or similar tools

  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing enterprise products at a Series A-C startup
