The role

We are a company striving to create world-class physical products, web and mobile experiences for our customers. In this role you will report directly into the VP of User Experience & Digital Design and focus on leading the creation of our upcoming best-in-class native app. You will be a key player in helping to define and shape the strategy and end-to-end user experience of this platform in close partnership with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Executives. The ideal candidate is a resourceful self-starter with a passion for developing design solutions driven by real customer insights, data and research. You not only have a mastery of interface design, but also think about design in a systematic way ensuring we are developing a consistent and holistic digital ecosystem for our customers. As the Lead Digital Product Designer, you will inspire team members and cross-functional partners by executing elegant, intuitive UX flows and delivering UI designs that advance the digital product experience for Lovevery.

Your accountabilities

  • Be a champion and voice for our customers
  • Have a deep knowledge and understanding for native app design patterns and best practices
  • Support on web optimizations and features as needed
  • Apply conceptual thinking and creativity to complex design problems from conception to production for native app and site
  • Create user-centered designs that drive business metrics (ex. conversion rate, engagement, NPS)
  • Create low-fidelity prototypes followed by high-fidelity prototypes, demonstrating first functional thinking and then visual communication
  • Unite with other design and creative partners to deliver designs that demonstrate brand consistency across all platforms and devices
  • Thoughtfully and professionally communicate your design solutions and rationale both with your peers as well as cross-functionally team members in a collaborative and personable way
  • Facilitate alignment with stakeholders across the org and all levels of leadership
  • Bring positive energy and freshness to your daily collaboration with the product, tech and marketing teams to execute digital projects across all platforms
  • Manage and track asset handoff and production process for all designs
  • Mentor other designers on the team to promote a culture of design excellence
  • Recruit, manage and mentor junior design talent as the team grows

Your qualifications and attributes needed

  • 8+ years of professional experience as a digital product designer, user experience designer, interaction designer, visual designer, information architect, or similar preferably with rich app experience
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable professional experience in human-centered design, psychology, web design, or other relevant disciplines
  • You have a deep understanding of user experience best practices and ensure your solutions are simple, easy to use and approachable
  • A strong eye for visual design — visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and color choice. Marketing or eCommerce design experience is a plus
  • Strong experience and examples of designing for native app, specifically iOS (android is a plus)
  • You build empathy and understanding by listening to our customers—parents, caregivers, and young children—and use those learnings to create impactful and delightful experiences
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior design talent
