Gather wants to empower the world's best educational providers with the digital tools they need to engage their communities online. They are all motivated to deliver the same connective & interactive experiences that they have perfected in-person. Live, virtual classes & events have become increasingly popular and effective, but we are in the early innings of what can be done to create a sense of connection and community online. We are building tools to allow these organizations to better design, deliver, and manage their live, virtual education initiatives. In doing so, we will be creating a trusted marketplace that connects communities of lifelong learners to the best educational providers.

What we're looking for:

Gather is looking for an entrepreneurial designer to create the future of social enrichment learning. You will be in charge of crafting the user experience, both for the educational institutions as well as their members. You'll work directly with us, Alex & Rob, to dream up what digital memberships for these storied institutions look like, and how online offerings can enhance their overall members experience. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of lifelong learning.

You will:

Design product

• Design and own end-to-end (hands-on) design of large parts of our product.
• Work closely with the founders and our educational providers (think museums, universities, cultural organizations) to understand our customers and define what we build.

Define our brand

• As part of the founding team, you’ll be a key early leader shaping our brand, voice, and overall user experience.
• You will craft our Design culture and set the quality bar high. Help us create the culture you always wish you were hired into.

Develop assets

• We aim to delight every partner we work with. Help each partner develop a bespoke experience for their members.

You might excel at this role if you:

• Are an entrepreneurial designer.
• Have first-hand experience designing end-to-end products from scratch.
• Respond well to open-ended problems and thrive on autonomy.
• Have a passion for education and lifelong learning.
