Senior Product Designer (UI/UX)

O/M is a multidisciplinary studio specializing in product design. We work collaboratively and iteratively in small, independent teams to solve complex problems for companies of all sizes. As a design-led company, we offer end-to-end services to our clients. This includes everything from designing products from scratch to growing and expanding established products for some of the most innovative companies in the world.

We believe a diverse team is required to create products for a diverse world. As a studio whose mission is to improve people’s lives through design, we’re deeply invested in fostering broad representation across our team at O/M and ensuring that we have a supportive, growth-oriented environment that works for everyone.

We commit to working together each day in a way that reflects these core practices:

  • Bold. Be vocal. Take initiative. Have strong convictions, but hold them loosely.
  • Open-minded. New ideas are fragile; handle them with care.
  • Dependable. Do what you say you are going to do. People are counting on you.
  • Humble. Good work speaks for itself. And good feedback is a gift.
  • Practical. Think outside the box but work within it.

About the Role

  • Location: San Francisco or New York HQs or US remote
  • Full-time

As a Senior Product Designer, you'll thrive if you...

  • Have 3+ years experience in a Product Design role shipping digital products
  • Understand how to articulate the value of design, get people excited by your ideas, and explain the "why" behind decisions
  • Explore complex problem spaces, generate multiple solutions, rapidly iterate, and make strategic product decisions in partnership with a team
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data throughout the design process, and design and conduct user research
  • Champion design craft, continually evolving processes to be more thoughtful and effective
  • Foster an environment that’s inclusive, productive, creative, safe, and candid, inspiring others to do their best work

If you think you’d do well in this role, but don’t meet 100% of the qualifications above, you should still seriously consider applying.

Our Commitments to You

  • We’ll pay you competitively. This is a full-time, salaried position with opportunities for performance-based bonuses
  • We’ll invest in your physical and mental well-being with health, dental, and vision benefits and time off for mental wellness
  • We’ll invest in your future with a 401k program and a company match
  • We’ll encourage your growth with a $1,000 annual education stipend and the support you need to develop as a designer
  • We’ll pay you to recharge. We offer a baseline of over 20 days of vacation time a year and a time-off program that gives you more time-off the longer you stay with us. We also offer a 4 week paid sabbatical for O/Mers who have been with the studio for 5 years
  • We offer 12 weeks of paid family leave and up to 12 additional weeks of unpaid time off for parents
  • You’ll get to work on and propose your own studio projects. In the past we’ve launched products like Howfresh.co, developed our own UI kit, created custom swag, and organized hackathons
  • You’ll get to take part in team outings and events that bring us together through creative and value-driven activities
  • We provide employees with the tools they need to create a great remote work environment with up to $5,000 for equipment and ergonomic support
  • We’ll help you work in the space you feel the best with up to $200/month towards renting co-working space in your city
  • We’ll bring you to San Francisco or New York for new employee onboarding to get to know the team (currently on hold until COVID-19 is under control)

If you share our values and our enthusiasm for improving people’s lives through design, we’d love to hear from you! Send us an email at jobs@omstudio.co with your portfolio and resume to apply.
