Senior Product Designer
Figure is a small, VC-backed seed-stage company building a modern platform for total compensation. We help companies figure out how to pay their employees by making data-driven decisions. We are building a system of records for salary bands and job ladders with dashboards for analytics. We are disrupting old industry software and manual compensation surveys by leveraging technology and integrations to provide real-time analytics and data. We are also building tools for candidates and employees to better understand their total compensation. Our mission is to bring transparency to compensation -- for companies, employees, and candidates.
Product challenges at Figure
Today, companies make most of their compensation data using spreadsheets and disparate data sources. Determining how to pay people is viewed as an art form rather than a science. We want to disrupt that paradigm and centralize all compensation-related data into a single system of record, with automated workflows to get companies off of spreadsheets. Therefore, building the right features for our users will be challenging and involve doing some user research and leveraging our advisory board to really understand the needs to come up with the right solution and iterate quickly.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall strategy and decision-making about product direction
- Interface with external customers to understand requirements and pain points, and synthesize them into product/features
- Create flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals across product and brand
- Work closely with Engineering to ship high-quality software
Requirements:
- 3+ years of product experience
- Can reduce complex problems down to the right combination of simplicity and functionality
- Have experience designing for business-focused products
- Advocate strongly for the user, and think through user problems to understand the intent of a workflow
- Understand the technical limitations and the trade-offs behind your design decisions
- Self-starter who actively seeks ways to improve the product experience for our customers

The founders were both previously software engineers building products at scale at companies like Uber, Instacart, Flexport and Checkr.
