Remote UX Engineer III

The UX Engineer III is responsible for supporting unifying cross-product user experience strategies, tools, and processes to scaling the UX support of Cofense products and platform development.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product counterpart to align on higher-level cross-product UI/UX goals as well as specific features.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the applications.
  • Leverage product SME insights on how customers currently utilize our products.
  • Identify opportunities customers could benefit through alternative task workflows.
  • As an effective communicator, engage in constant knowledge sharing with others on the team, and aid engagement across groups, communities of practice, and across products.
  • Assists in defining and update scalable user experience guidance and processes for product and development teams that allow them to develop consistent and usable interfaces rapidly. 
  • Act as a UX/UI subject-matter expert for anyone involved in product development. This role should serve to educate others on both general design principles and also on context-specific ones.
  • Supports identifying and implementing opportunities to utilize analytics, testing data.
  • Support defining UX KPIs.
  • Perform essential usability/user testing and facilitate design decisions.  
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to identify or produce the leanest artifacts to move development forward based on the project and team dynamics. 
  • Support the evangelization of scalable processes within the organization as well as UI, UX, and product design distinctions. 
  • Able to identify UX blockers or other resource restrictions and effectively communicate those issues.
  • Able to communicate workload conflicts.
  • Regularly collaborates with the UI Engineering team.
  • Support the design, strategy, and development needs of design systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Proficient in HTML and CSS with knowledge of web standards, advanced layouts, accessibility, and responsive design.
  • Strong understanding of web-based design systems.
  • Passionate about user experience, building modern interfaces, and collaborating closely with front-end engineers.
  • Effective time management.
  • Empathy for the end user.
  • Constant desire and eagerness to further develop your skillset.

Education and/or Experience:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in product design and web-based UX.
  • Previous experience evolving web-based design systems and overseeing integration across a line of products.
  • Previous experience utilizing a design system to facilitate rapid prototyping.
  • Previous experience conducting user and stakeholder interviews, usability testing, and focus groups.
  • Experience performing workflow and task analysis
