Stellar Health - Product Designer - NYC

About Stellar Health:

Healthcare costs are one of the biggest problems in the United States today. At Stellar Health, we are building a platform that helps Healthcare Providers (doctors and support staff) improve the quality of care they provide while also reducing their costs. In the end, these improvements make patients healthier.

Stellar Health’s product is actively used by over 100 Medical Groups - and we have proven that it makes a real difference for these practices and their patients. As our impact continues to show measurable results, our book of business is growing and the number of end users is growing in parallel.

It’s an exciting time to join the business: we have a proven product and operating model and are well funded. Our founding team covers a wide range of experience and skills - having built multiple best-in-class technology products in their careers, with deep healthcare knowledge and experience in starting successful companies from the ground up (more about the company at

About the position:

Stellar Health is looking for our first Product Designer. This person will join our team as a Lead, and focus on owning everything related to the design of our platform. Reporting directly to the CTO, this role will also have the opportunity to work with many teams at Stellar including engineering, product, ops, and sales.

This is a senior opportunity and will require significant prior experience in design, as well as previous experience working on impactful products. While this role may turn into a management opportunity as we grow, we’re initially looking for a candidate who isn’t afraid to (and is interested in) getting their hands dirty on day to day design work, storyboarding, and user research.

As the first Designer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic product decisions, working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and ops. You will also be responsible for building the design roadmap, advocating for the user and synthesizing ambiguous business requirements into workflows. Ultimately, your work will set the tone for the design process at Stellar.

As a Lead Product Designer you should have:

  • 5 or more years of experience with product design
  • Specific experience designing complex workflow products is required
  • Proven record of delivering simple, clear, and effective designs
  • Deep understanding of User Experience principles and best practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills is a must
  • The ability to balance art and science

Diversity is the key to our success. Stellar Health is an equal opportunity employer and we are open to all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.

We believe that diverse teams -and the different identities, cultures, and life experiences our team members bring to the table- enable us to create amazing products, find creative solutions to interesting problems, and build an inclusive working environment.

We encourage everyone to apply to our roles, even if they do not meet every single qualification on a job description, and our team is committed to reviewing every resume submitted.

Interested? Please submit a resume and a portfolio of your work. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
