UI/UX Designer - Full time (30-40 hrs)

Who we are

We are a young creative agency, focusing on the design of digital products as well as unique and outstanding websites. The company currently consists of three young founders as well as three more designers. Our clients being widely ranged - from startups to well established businesses and large companies. We have already worked on a lot of exciting projects for clients like E.On, S Bahn Stuttgart or the Artist Alle Farben.

Our projects focus on:

  • the design and development of unique and outstanding websites or applications
  • Working closely with development teams of tech companies on the continuous development of their product in terms of UI/UX design
  • Working with partners in the field of software engineering on the development of digital products from the first concept to delivery and continuous improvement
  • Supporting clients with the validation of product concepts through the development of graphical prototypes from low to high fidelity

Who are we looking for

Your Role

To take on even more and bigger projects we are looking for support from a full-time interaction designer. We expect you to take responsibility for your projects and results from day 1 on as a lead designer and support our Junior Designers with their projects as a supervisor. We want to go the next big steps of the development of this agency together with you - and rely on your support and proactive contribution of ideas and opinions.

Skills

What you should have experience with because this is what you are going to do at somethingcreative:

  • Close collaboration with stakeholders such as clients, product owners or supervisors including presenting and explaining design decisions to them and taking their demands into consideration during the design process
  • Conceptualising and creating the ux of a digital product / website including product features, user flows and information architecture
  • Conceptualising and creating the visual style of a product / website and direct, improve and alter it throughout the project
  • Design of user interfaces from first scribbles, to wireframes and high fidelity visual designs
  • Creating prototypes in different fidelity levels to test and iterate your designs
  • Handoff to software development teams and close collaboration to make sure everything is correctly implemented and works as it should
  • Working with all kinds of design software such as Sketch, AdobeXD

or Figma and being able to quickly learn new tools when needed

  • Giving in-depth design critique and feedback, working collaborative, strong communication in english and/or german

The following would be a huge plus:

  • Experience with testing your design with real users, e.g. by utilizing usability testing
  • Experience with conceptualising, creating and maintaining ui component libraries/design systems
  • Basic knowledge in the field of front-end development or even better, the ability to translate your designs into well structured HTML/CSS, either by coding or using tools like webflow
  • Previous experience in the agency business
  • Experience with working in an agile work environment
  • Experience with other design fields, e.g. illustration, motion design, 3d modelling 
  • Experience with supervising junior designers and helping them develop their skills
